Reporting automation

Power BI reporting automation: stop rebuilding your reports

If someone in your team spends days each month copying exports into spreadsheets, that work can usually be automated. We connect your sources once and the reports refresh themselves.

The problem

Manual reporting costs more than it seems.

Monthly and weekly reports built by hand take time, depend on one or two people, and are easy to get wrong.

By the time the pack is ready, the numbers are already out of date.

  • Days lost to copying and pasting at month-end
  • Reports that depend on one person's spreadsheet
  • Errors from manual consolidation
  • Leaders waiting for figures they need now
The solution

Connect once, refresh automatically.

We connect Power BI directly to your source systems and files, apply the cleaning and calculation steps automatically, and schedule refreshes so the reports are always current.

  • Direct connections to systems, SharePoint and databases
  • Automated cleaning and consolidation in Power Query
  • Scheduled refresh with failure alerts
  • Email subscriptions to reports and pages
  • Data-driven alerts when KPIs cross thresholds
  • Paginated reports for print-ready packs where needed
Benefits

What automation changes.

The time your team spends producing reports can go into acting on them.

Time back

Hours of monthly preparation replaced by a scheduled refresh.

Fewer errors

The same steps run the same way every time.

Up-to-date figures

Daily or more frequent refresh instead of month-end snapshots.

Less key-person risk

The process lives in Power BI, not in one person's head.

Earlier warnings

Alerts flag problems as they happen.

Auditability

Clear, documented data lineage from source to report.

Process

How the work runs.

Each stage ends with something you can see and sign off. Read more about how we work and our fixed-scope engagements.

01

Discover

We meet the people who use the reports, agree the decisions they need to make and audit the data you hold.

02

Model

We connect your sources, clean and shape the data, and build one model with agreed calculations.

03

Build

We design the reports in short review cycles, so you shape the result as it develops.

04

Adopt

We train your users, hand over documentation and set up refresh and access so it runs without us.

FAQ

Reporting automation questions.

Anything else, ask us during your free Power BI review.

Can Power BI refresh data from Excel files?

Yes. Files stored in SharePoint or OneDrive can refresh automatically in the Power BI service. Files on local drives usually need a gateway or a move to SharePoint.

How often can reports refresh?

With Power BI Pro, scheduled refresh can run up to eight times a day. Higher-capacity licences allow more frequent refresh.

What if our source system has no connector?

Most systems can export data or offer an API. We will find the most reliable route during discovery.

Can reports be emailed automatically?

Yes. Power BI subscriptions can email report snapshots on a schedule to the people who need them.
